Farming In West Sussex
Sussexlamb.co.uk is a family run business in West Sussex. We have a flock of suffolk cross ewes which we lamb in March ready for the best of the spring grass. The lambs thrive on their mothers milk and are given plenty of time to mature fully at grass before being weaned in late August when the grass is less nutritious and their mothers are given a well deserved rest. The lambs are then moved onto fresh pasture.
We have been Tenant Farmers in West Sussex for the past 20 years where we have brought up our two children and seen many changes in farming. We have always had to change with the times and diversify and this has been a real challenge over the past 10 years.
Foot and Mouth has been devestating for farmers across the country and now more than ever we must sell our produce locally.
We are passionate about farming and take great pleasure from the animals that we rear and the farmland we endeavour to take care of.
